The Mugello Circuit officially opened the curtain on the second of three rounds of the 2025 E4 Championship. A total of 34 drivers took to the track for the first 40-minute free practice session, an opportunity to get acquainted with one of the most technical circuits in Europe.
At the end, it was Kean Nakamura-Berta, representing Prema Racing, who set the benchmark with a best lap of 1:50.663. Right behind him, just 0.201 seconds adrift, came Latvian driver Tomass Stolcermanis with AKM Motorsport, who had led the session for a long stretch.
Third place went to Dutchman Reno Francot (PHM Racing), fresh from his Formula Regional debut in Austria last week, who returned to a Formula 4 Tatuus with impressive speed. His gap was 0.282s.

Fourth fastest was Kabir Anurag, Alpine Academy driver with US Racing, only 0.292 seconds off the leader. In fifth, at 0.342 seconds, was Sicilian Ludovico Busso, making his debut with the Kerpen-based squad.
In sixth position, Sebastian Wheldon from the United States, Prema Racing, +0.368, ahead of championship leader Gabriel Gomez, US Racing, who after his remarkable first round at Paul Ricard ended today’s opening session seventh at +0.396. Eighth and ninth went to Van Amersfoort Racing drivers Maksimilian Popov (+0.397) and Aleksander Ruta (+0.452). Rounding out the top 10 was Serbian Andrija Kostic, US Racing, at +0.497.
Also noteworthy was Arjen Kraling’s eleventh place on his debut with US Racing. Other newcomers to this round include Oscar Repetto with Cram Motorsport, Mathilda Paatz and Aurelia Nobels with AS Motorsport, as well as Mercedes junior Andy Consani, lining up with R-ace GP.
The weekend schedule continues today, Friday, September 12, with the second free practice from 1:20 PM to 2:00 PM, followed in the evening by qualifying (Q1 from 5:20PM to 5:35PM, Q2 from 5:45PM to 6:00PM). Tomorrow, Saturday, September 13, race 1 will take place at 10:25AM and race 2 at 4:40PM, while race 3 is scheduled for Sunday, September 14 at 10:40AM. All races will last 30 minutes plus one lap and will be broadcast live on ACI Sport TV and the international network of broadcasters covering the championship worldwide, as well as via live streaming on the social channels of ACI Sport and the E4 Championship.
