This weekend, the AKM Motorsport team returns to the track for the first round of the Euro 4 Championship, taking place at the Mugello circuit. The San Marino-based team will field three cars, one of which will be driven by their new addition, Mattia Marchiante.

The 15-year-old Italian driver is set to make his debut in the series after performing impressively in the Italian Sport Prototypes Championship, where he secured a victory at the Tuscan track last July.

Marchiante is expected to be one of the drivers to watch as the second half of the season begins. He will join Emanuele Olivieri, who turned 16 earlier this month.

Olivieri has competed in all the rounds of the Italian F4 Championship with AKM Motorsport, securing four top-10 finishes overall, with a best result of sixth place in the most recent round at Paul Ricard, along with five podium finishes in the Rookie standings.

Completing the AKM Motorsport line-up this week is Oleksandr Savinkov. The 15-year-old Ukrainian driver has shown significant progress and achieved his best finish of 18th overall at Vallelunga during the second round of the Italian series.

The Euro 4 Championship calendar features three rounds. After the Mugello event, the series will head to the Austrian Red Bull Ring in September, followed by the grand finale at Monza in early October.

Engines will be fired up from Friday with two free practice sessions, followed by two qualifying sessions on Saturday at 8:30 and 8:55. The first of three 30-minute plus one-lap races will take place Saturday afternoon at 16:30. Race 2 and Race 3 will be held on Sunday at 8:50 and 16:00, respectively.
